Community Block Party
April 27th, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Hall Park

April is the National Month of the Child and Child Abuse Awareness Month.  The Dixon Advocates for Children plan to focus on the youth of Dixon at the Community Block Party.  The annual event is scheduled for April 27.  Hall Park is the setting of the Party and the hours are 10 AM to 4 PM.

The Block Party provides fun, safe, activities, entertainment, and information provided by local youth groups.  It is a fun-filled day that enables all members of the community, both young and old, to exchange information about themselves.

Youth groups can take this opportunity to raise funds through concessions.  Youth organizations that require community service projects can fulfill those requirements by providing free games, craft projects, and other activities for children.  Young entertainers who would like to perform are encouraged to call soon as our entertainment schedule is rapidly filling up.

Dixon Police officers will be on hand with their police dog, McGruff, the crime watch dog, free fingerprinting, Neighborhood Watch information, and police vehicles.  Officers and rescue vehicles from the Dixon Fire Department, the Solano County Sheriffs Department, and the California Highway Patrol will also be present.

The Block Party will be the first opportunity for Dixonites to purchase the new 2002 edition of the Dixon Advocates for Children T-shirts, decorated with this year's winning logo from the logo contest.
